Pro athlete visits Clover Bar Junior High

Professional soccer play, Tosaint Ricketts dropped by Clover Bar Junior High to talk students in the soccer program.

Ricketts told students about how he became a professional athlete and answered questions about his life as a soccer star.

“It was a great experience to learn from a professional,” said soccer player Aiden Hawrelechko. “It’s helpful to be able to understand how he was able to turn soccer into his career.”

Ricketts told students about the importance for him to have focused on university level play and said to take advantage of the athletic scholarships available for those who push themselves to succeed.

They ended the session out on the field with Ricketts.

“We all had a lot of fun but the students also treated it as a serious test of their abilities,” said head coach, Jeff Burback. “They all wanted to try to best him in a one-on-one match.”
