4 people arrested in connection to property crime near Holden

A local citizen notified Viking RCMP about the presence of two suspicious vehicles going onto a rural property near Holden, around 9:30 a.m. on February 28. Two trucks were reported to have been trespassing and the occupants were believed to be committing a break and enter.

With help from Killam and Tofield RCMP, Viking RCMP along with the RCMP Police Dog Services arrived on the scene where they arrested three occupants of one of the trucks, but the second truck fled the scene.

It was later that evening that the RCMP received a tip from the public about the location of the second vehicle, which led police to a rural property near Bruce. Viking RCMP, with a warrant, entered the property and arrested a fourth suspect.

Michael Kelm, 43, of Bruce has been charged with break and enter with intent, fail to comply with release order condition and driving while unauthorized.

Terrance Campbell, 33, of Grande Prairie, has been charged with break and enter with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and trespass to premises for a first offence.

Shaymus Bennett, 27, of Fort St. John, B.C. has been charged with break and enter with intent, fail to comply with undertaking condition and trespass to premises for a first offence.

Megan Atwood, 34, of Vermilion, has been charged with break and enter with intent, obstruct a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance and trespass to premises for a first offence.

All four are expected to appear in court on April 6.
