Three Lamont residents face multiple charges

A proactive patrol by RCMP members in Lamont County has led to the seizure of cocaine.

Members of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP conducted a traffic stop after they witnessed a vehicle swerving in its driving lane, on May 14.

With the traffic stop the RCMP identified the occupants of the vehicle and entered into a drug investigation. It was determined the male driver, 20,  was breaching release order conditions in relation to a previous charge. The driver along with a male passenger, 20 and a female passenger, 19, were arrested.

A search was conducted and the following items were seized:

Over 8 grams of Cocaine, 5 grams of Hashish, 9.6 grams of Cannabis, Xanax tablets, a small amount of Methamphetamine, digital scale and drug paraphernalia.

All three individuals are from Lamont and face a number of charges including, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, resist/obstruct peace officer and fail to comply with release order.

They are scheduled to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on August 20.
