Three Vermilion residents face multiple drug and weapon charges

A break and enter occurred during the overnight hours of July 30.

The Vermilion RCMP started an investigation and identified three suspects. The next day, July 31 they were granted a search warrant for the residence the three suspects shared. Police found items stolen in the July 30 break and enter, along with items stolen from a commercial break and enter on July 28. They also seized several firearms, two were prohibited firearms because they were modified, multiple illegal drugs and a small amount of commercial explosive devices.

Mark Cameron,46, of Vermilion has been charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime X9, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possess prohibited weapon X3, trafficking in property obtained by crime and possession of illegal drugs X4).

Ken Thomas, 39, of Vermilion has been charged with Break and enter,  Possession of property obtained by crime X 9, Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Possess prohibited weapon X3, Trafficking in property obtained by crime, Fail to comply with release order X2, Possession of illegal drugs X4.

Paige Tkachuk,24, of Vermilion has been charged with Break and enter, Possession of property obtained by crime X 9, Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Possess prohibited weapon X3, Trafficking in property obtained by crime, Possess break in instruments, Possession of illegal drugs X4.

Cameron and Tkachuk are scheduled to appear in Vermilion Provincial Court on August 10. Thomas’ next appearance will be August 17.

RCMP say more charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
