Explosive hazard advisory for Vegreville has been lifted

A gas main line leak left the Town of Vegreville under an explosive hazard advisory on Monday, May 6.

The Alberta Emergency Alert System sounded around 1:30 p.m.

The town provided ThreeSixty with an update via Facebook just after 3 p.m. stating, “roads are now open and the gas leak has been contained. ATCO would like to announce that approximately 75-100 customers will be without gas for the next few hours while they proceed with repairs. 16 A south around 50th street.”

The alert was cancelled at approximately 3:30 p.m.
