Students bring Tom Jones to life on stage

Students bring a coming-of-age tale to the stage this week.

Ardrossan Junior Senior High School’s theatre group, Adrossan Drama Company (ADC) will perform Tom Jones, which was written by Henry Fielding on March 13 – 16.

The story follows Tom Jones, a young man who must steer through the world of upper-class English society and because of the mystery around his birth, his peers often assume the worst about him. As the story unfolds, the audience will learn that Tom Jones is a rough but kind-hearted man trying to find his way in the world.

“Our cast and crew have worked so hard for the last five months preparing for this show and we’re excited to finally be able to share it,” said theatre teacher Wade Hayden. “It’s a story about truth, love and hypocrisy that asks us to examine the value of appearances.”

There are 40 students enrolled in the ADC program and all are taking part in the upcoming play.

The show runs March 13 – 16 at the Ardrossan Community Theatre. Tickets can be pre-purchased for $12 at the school or online at http://www.onstagedirect.com or pay $15 at the door.

Show time is 7 p.m.
