Pilot safely lands plane on roadway after a mechanical issue

A plane heading from British Columbia to Edmonton had to make an emergency landing, roughly 11km south of Hinton.

A 911 call at 3:42 p.m. said a plane was blocking traffic on Robb Road. Hinton RCMP responded and found that the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue. While landing on the roadway, the plane clipped a fifth wheel, but no injuries were reported.

A person who was passing by the scene, assisted in towing the plane off the road.

The police have notified the Transportation Safety Board about the incident.
