Emergency Water Outage Affecting multiple Homes in Bruderheim

The Town of Bruderheim has told residents they could be without water for almost seven hours.

A cracked water valve has caused an emergency water outage, which affects 25 homes. Residents were notified at 12:51 p.m. on Oct. 8 that an emergency water line repair in Brookside Park will cause a water outage to 25 residents from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 9.

“We went in to repair a valve and upon closer inspection we found the valve was actually cracked,” said Director of Public Works Dennis Tomuschat. “So, we put protocols in place which was to notify all residents affected. It’s a really bad time of day to do this but we didn’t have a choice.”

Residents affected are between 5506 – 45 st., 4502 – 53 ave., 5217 – 45 st. and 4437 – 55 ave.

The notification was sent by text, email and letter on the door to those affected by the cracked water valve repair.  The affected residents were also asked to fill containers of portable water to use during the outage.
