RCMP arrest Lamont Grocery robber

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP have arrested a man in connection with the Lamont Grocery robbery.

RCMP responded to reports of a robbery at the grocery store on April 10. Police learned that a single male suspect stole money from the register and fled the scene in a vehicle, but not before throwing a chair at the store clerk. The clerk was not injured and no weapons were brandished during the robbery.

Thanks to video surveillance and with the assistance of the Fort Saskatchewan Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit, police identified the suspect.

Jason Ibsen, 40, of Fort Saskatchewan has been charged with the following: robbery and disguise with intent to commit offence.

Ibsen has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on July 2.
