Two people arrested after multiple break and enters in Boyle

Two people from Athabasca have been charged with multiple break and enters along with possession of stolen property.

Boyle RCMP entered a residence within the Village of Boyle and executed a feeney warrant on a male known to police to have outstanding warrants, on March 25. The man was arrested without incident and during the arrest police saw a snowboard that had been stolen previously within the town. RCMP then secured the scene and a search warrant was executed. They located stolen property dating back to November 2019.

A female was also arrested in relation to this incident.

An investigation determined both people were responsible for break and enter to a local seniors centre and a private shed. Both individuals were found in possession of stolen property from many residences and garages within the town. RCMP also recovered stolen tools and equipment that belonged to the Boyle School, which was used to teach students.

“This is a great feeling of being able to recover and return personal belongings back to its rightful owners, and the tools back to our local school.”, said Cst. Andrew Deme of the Boyle RCMP. “We strive as a detachment to ensure the residents of not only our Village, but our surrounding community that when issues are addressed in regards to crime, that we listen and take action.”

Luc Roy, 30, and Talia Favel, 22, both of Athabasca were charged with possession of property obtained by crime (X10), break and enter (X2) and mischief under $5000.

Roy is scheduled to make a court appearance at 9 a.m. in the City of Edmonton on March 30. Favel is scheduled to appear in Boyle Provincial Court  at 10 a.m. on June 23.
