Vermilion RCMP were notified of an assault in relation to a stolen vehicle complaint, in the late afternoon hours of September 7.

When the victim confronted the suspect after her car was stolen, she was assaulted.

RCMP executed a search warrant at the suspects home and recovered the stolen vehicle. Police also found a sawed off shotgun.

Andrew James Prill, 34 of Vermilion has been charged with assault, possession of stolen property X2, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of weapon while prohibited.

Prill will remain in custody until he appears in Provincial Court in St. Paul to speak to bail.
